23 illegal migrants were caught sneaking into the country on 1 April 2019.
Ten migrants were trying to come to Hungary at the Kelebia border crossing point around 2 am on 1 April. The ten men, who said that they were Afghan citizens but could not identify themselves with any legal documents, were hiding in a freight train that was coming from the direction of Serbia.
Another twelve migrants were caught in Hercegszántó and Dávod (Bács-Kiskun County) around 3 am.
A few minutes later, another one was found hiding in a truck that was coming from Serbia. The man said that he was a Turkish citizen, but he could not identify himself.
All the 23 migrants were taken back to the border barrier.
