Record breaking cold weather was reported in Vásárosnamény on 8 January 2019.
According to the Hungarian Meteorology Service, the lowest temperatures hit -18,6 Celsius degrees in Vásárosnamény. This year, this was coldest night in Hungary.
Weather forecasts say that cold winter weather continues; the lowest temperatures will be around -10 Celsius degrees and the highest will be between -6 and 3 Celsius degrees.
